Identity development as a lens to science teacher preparation

Concepts and findings from research on identity development are employed to better understand why current science teacher preparation programs are failing to prepare teachers who are able and choose to implement the vision for science education articulated in professional standards. Web-supported collaborations: Building, evaluating, and sustaining a museum partnership network.

It seems difficult to suggest that creating an educational software program with 30+ individuals of varying skill sets, spread across the country from Hawaii to Vermont, is an ideal model for others to follow. Research-Practice Partnerships: A Strategy for Leveraging Research for Educational Improvement in School Districts

In this paper commissioned by the William T. Grant Foundation, Cynthia Coburn, Ph.D.; William Penuel, Ph.D.; and Kimberly Geil, Ph.D. survey the current landscape of partnerships involving school districts to better understand different types of collaborations, the challenges they face, and their strategies for success. Through this paper, they develop sharp insights about this promising field.
