EA4CS is an AISL Pathways project that explores the use of embedded assessment (EA) to measure participant science inquiry skill development within the context of citizen science (CS) projects. This project engages members of racially and economically diverse communities in identifying and carrying out environmental projects that are meaningful to their lives, and adapts technology known as NatureNet to assist them. NatureNet, encompassing a cell phone app, a multi-user, touch-based tabletop display and a web-based community, was developed with prior NSF support.

Indianapolis: City as a Living Laboratory (NSF Grant #DRL-1323117) examines how different public art mediums can serve as conduits for informal science learning at a city-wide scale.

WISE Guys & Gals (WGG) is an Informal STEM program that engages early adolescents (middle school age youth) in innovative and engaging blended (on-line and hands-on) STEM based engineering challenges. WISEngineering, the open source online learning environment, that supports WGG, connects and blends the strengths of virtual design and physical modeling while also facilitating youth collaboration and collection of data for research.
