CAISE Convening The 2016 Advancing Informal STEM Learning (AISL) Principal Investigator (PI) Meeting
The Center for Advancement of Informal Science Education (CAISE) will host the 2016 Advancing Informal STEM Learning (AISL) Principal Investigator (PI) Meeting, as part of our cooperative agreement with the National Science Foundation (NSF). We ask that AISL PIs save the date for this year’s meeting, to be held February 29th - March 2nd, 2016, at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel in North Bethesda, MD, just minutes from D.C. The main meeting will take place Tuesday and Wednesday (the 1st and 2nd). Technical assistance activities (TBD), which in the past have included informative sessions on topics such as grant management and evaluation in informal STEM education, will occur on Monday (the 29th). You can peruse material from past PI meetings and summits on InformalScience.org.
We invite AISL projects to send one representative to the meeting, this can a Principal Investigator, a co-Principal Investigator, or a project staff person. CAISE will establish a waiting list for additional project participants after registration opens; at that time please contact us at caise@informalscience.org if you would like to send additional project participants to the meeting.
In the coming months please look for further communications about how to register and how to receive a special rate for hotel lodging. At the meeting CAISE will provide working breakfasts and lunches. Expenses for travel, lodging, and registration should be budgeted for in an AISL award.
In the meantime, now is an opportune moment to enrich and inform our community of informal STEM learning professionals on InformalScience.org, by completing and/or updating your profile, and sharing the most current information about your project. Also, please sign up for the CAISE newsletter.
We look forward to the gathering of AISL projects in 2016!
