Call for research participation: What is inclusive science communication?
A PhD student at the Australian National Centre for the Public Awareness of Science at the Australian National University is conducting an exploratory study which aims to understand the perceptions of science communication practice and research in the context of reaching historically excluded audiences in diverse contexts around the world. This project will use surveys and interviews of science communication experts globally in different settings from small-scale grassroots projects, to national science centers and museums, to university outreach programs. The findings will identify common strategies, enablers and challenges to high quality science communication initiatives that meaningfully incorporate ideas of inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility.
Participation for the study includes an online survey which will asking about experiences as a science communicator and understanding and perspectives on inclusive science communication research and practice.
